MJ Cole One of the genre's founding figures, he broke UK garage into the mainstream with 2000's Sincere, one of the first garage tracks to crack the UK Top 40, and has spent the 25 years since moving fluidly between garage, soul and classical-leaning production. Classically trained on oboe and piano before he ever touched a mixer, he brings a rare depth to a DJ set, expect a masterclass, not just a headline slot.

Lost Tape x Broken Soul, Mixed by Che Wax: Kendrick Lamar & Gil Scott Heron
Before Kendrick Lamar, there was Gil Scott-Heron. He laid the groundwork for conscious rap through spoken word and fearless social commentary, drawing on the East Coast jazz poets of the Harlem Renaissance to turn poetry into a political force. Decades later, Kendrick Lamar picked up the mic and carried that same tradition forward, rooted in West Coast hip-hop and built for the mainstream stage. When he quoted "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" during his Super Bowl halftime show, he was pointing straight back to where it all started.
The Godfather of rap meets his poet laureate.
Lost Tapes asks the question: what would a collaboration between these two sound like? Through DJs, live performance and visuals, we imagine the album that history never gave us, live on London's Largest Rooftop mixed by the legendary Ché Wax.
AetherFest (Black History Month)
AETHERFEST is a one-day event at Freight Brixton (25 October) from Aether Magazine, spotlighting emerging fashion, music, and creative talent from marginalised communities. The day includes a runway show, live performances, dance showcases, workshops, and DJs, plus a creative marketplace with tooth gems, henna, tarot, a nail bar, vintage fashion, and independent designers. Dress code is "Cirque Du Slay", maximalist, circus-inspired looks. It's billed as "Chapter One," with full lineup still to be announced via @aethermagazine and @freightbrixton.
Marvin Humes Presents Noughties Baby
Prepare to be transported back to the era of flip phones, low-rise jeans, and MySpace as Marvin Humes, the iconic JLS legend and star of The Hit List, presents 'Noughties Baby' – the ultimate 00s party extravaganza. He laid the groundwork for futuristic funk, blending R&B, rock, and synth-pop with an unmatched, flamboyant genius that turned the groove into an absolute force of nature. Decades later, Jay Kay and Jamiroquai picked up the rhythm and carried that same cosmic, genre-defying energy forward, rooted in deep disco-soul and built for the modern era. When Jamiroquaisings of cosmic girls and virtual insanity, they are riding the very same wave of stardust that Prince first unleashed on the world.

A true pioneer steps up… Greg Wilson takes over Freight Brixton for a special day session.
Starting his DJ journey at just 15, Greg Wilson went on to shape the UK’s club culture in the late ’70s and early ’80s, holding influential residencies at Wigan Pier and Legend, where he helped pioneer the electro-funk sound. In 1983, he made history as the first DJ to demonstrate live mixing on British TV, appearing on Channel 4’s The Tube.
Known for his groundbreaking re-edits, reel-to-reel sets, and deep musical knowledge, Greg returned in the 2000s with renewed acclaim, continuing to inspire generations, even famously teaching a young Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim) how to scratch.
Expect a masterclass in groove, spanning electro, funk, soul, and beyond, delivered by one of the UK’s most respected selectors.
