We’re excited to welcome Zeñel to Freight Brixton for a special live show curated by Cross The Tracks.
Formed in 2016, this London-based jazz-electronic quartet, often featuring Laurence Wilkins, Zoe Pascal, Jay Verma and Alex Wilson, are known for pushing boundaries, blending improvisational jazz with UK grime, drill and future bass. Using MIDI-based, computer-driven setups, Zeñel craft immersive, high-energy live performances that feel both futuristic and deeply rooted in the city’s underground sound.

Joining the lineup is Charlie Stacey, one of the UK’s leading keyboard players. Renowned for his exceptional improvisation, technical brilliance, and genre-spanning versatility, Stacey has quietly built a reputation as one of the most advanced young pianists on the scene.

London-based producer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter Ed Black (edbl) brings his soulful, hip-hop-infused grooves to Freight Brixton on Thursday, 18th June as part of our Soul of the South Thursday takeover series.
Known for blending R&B, jazz, soul, and hip-hop, edbl creates an organic, live sound, often performing guitar, keys, and other instruments himself over groovy, textured beats. A prolific collaborator, he has worked with over 50 artists, including Kazuki Isogai, IYAMAH, and Quinn Oulton, earning widespread recognition with over 100 million streams and support from BBC Radio 1Xtra and Jazz FM. DJ, producer and purveyor of quality house music, Laurence Guy has carved out a signature sound rooted in warm, sophisticated underground sounds.
Emerging from the UK’s grassroots scene, with early influences in DnB and dubstep, he’s continually evolved, exploring new directions while staying ahead of the curve.

IYAMAH
We welcome our second Cross The Tracks Thursday takeover with acclaimed R&B and soul artist IYAMAH, on Thursday, 21st May.
Growing up on the sounds of African drumming and reggae in Brighton, IYAMAH began using the piano as a diary-like outlet, developing her songwriting from age twelve, inspired by Alicia Keys, Jill Scott, and India Arie. A Cross The Tracks alumni, she moved to North London to study at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, winning a scholarship for Best Vocals.
Her debut Truth EP.1 gained international attention, leading to tours with Mahalia and Masego. She has performed at festivals including Cross The Tracks, Lost Village, and R&L, and sold out headline shows at London venues like The Jazz Café, O’MEARA, and Lafayette. With over 35 million streams and support from BBC Introducing, BBC 1Xtra, Elton John, and The Joe Budden Podcast, IYAMAH continues to impress.
Known for her soulful R&B style, which she calls “Rootsy Soul,” she blends her musical influences into storytelling focused on identity, self-worth, and female empowerment.

Santanic Flea Market presents: The Dark Arts Night Fayre
For one night, the Dark Arts Night Fayre descends on Freight Brixton! A nocturnal social gathering with food, music, art, and divination. A night market dealing in the strange, the ritualistic, and the otherworldly.
At the heart of the night is a 30+ stall dark arts market, featuring vintage artefacts, occult objects, taxidermy, bones, underground fashion, illustration, and rare curiosities. Live music comes from Das Fluff and Zero Sun : Kurätaka, with DJs taking things through to midnight.
Explore corpse paint life drawing, hands-on creative workshops, and a candlelit divination space with tarot readings. Food and drink are available all night from our resident vendors and bars.
